Welcome
Elliston Area School is a small rural school in the Eyre and Western Region on the Eyre Peninsula. It is located on the Flinders Highway, approximately 170km from Port Lincoln and 125km from Streaky Bay and 687km, from Adelaide.
Opened in 1921 to meet the educational requirements of local communities, Elliston Area School has a long history of educational success and innovative learning. Elliston Area School offers an exciting learning environment for students from Reception to Year 12. The school has close links to the Elliston Children’s Centre.
The school is set amongst picturesque grounds with well cared for playing fields and playground and is opposite the town oval, courts, sports complex and hall.
The school is an important social centre and meeting place for the local community with sports, cultural and fundraising events occurring through the year.
Parents, students and staff are proud of their school. Achievement and participation is encouraged and success is acknowledged by the whole community.

Our facilities
Haze - Wellness Dog
Haze, our friendly Groodle, is a much-loved member of the Elliston Area School community. Calm, gentle, and affectionate, Haze supports student wellbeing by providing comfort, encouraging positive interactions, and helping create a relaxed learning environment. Whether greeting students, joining classroom activities, or simply offering a reassuring presence, Haze plays an important role in promoting confidence, connection, and emotional wellbeing across our school.
Oval
Our spacious school oval provides students with opportunities for sport, physical activity, and outdoor learning. Used for football, cricket, athletics, and recreational play, it promotes teamwork, fitness, and active participation in school life.
Covered Outdoor Learning Area
Our Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) provides a versatile, all-weather space where students can learn, collaborate, and participate in a range of activities. Used for assemblies, performances, sport, and outdoor learning experiences, it supports engagement, creativity, and connection across the school community.
Playground and Gardens
Our playground and school gardens provide students with opportunities for active play, exploration, and hands-on learning. These spaces encourage creativity, teamwork, wellbeing, and an appreciation for the natural environment while supporting learning beyond the classroom.
